CT angiography

The main attractions of CT coronary angiography are:

• Non-invasive test
• Short procedure time. Out patient procedure not requiring admission and is pain free.
• Additional calcium scoring is performed before the main angiography which provides assessment of the cardiovascular risk

This is particularly useful for:

• Excluding coronary artery disease in patients with atypical chest pain or those with low or intermediate probability of coronary artery disease
• Excluding/assessment of coronary artery anomalies
• Assessment of coronary bypass grafts patency
• Pericardial disease
• Cardiac masses
